The Field Trip system is the District's online field trip request system. Based on the trip details input by the requester, the system triggers the appropriate approvers to certify online.  Requestors and approvers can check a trip’s status at any time.

 

 

Principals, Regional Offices, the Division of Instruction, Risk Management, Interscholastic Athletics, Nursing Services, Transportation Services, and the Office of Environmental Health & Safety (OEHS) work closely to ensure that LAUSD field trips are not only academically stimulating but also occur in a safe environment.

Field Trip Application – Release Notes for 01/02/26
Please be advised the following updates are now live in the system:
Trip Status Logic
• Approved trips should not revert to “Modification Submitted” when no department approval is required.
Transportation Dispatch
• Bus increases must reflect in BusOps before approval; reductions must be updated manually.
Athletic Trips
• Modifying the student list should not trigger “Modification Submitted.”
• Receiver Order No is not populating in BusOps.
Production Submission
• Trips cannot be submitted if certification comments include special characters.
Application Updates
• Updated language for trip survey.
System Improvements
• Application security and code review improvements.
